Our Mission in Action
Fuel Movement exists because North Lawndale deserves a community center where neighbors become family, challenges become opportunities, and residents lead their own transformation.
For twelve years, we've been more than just a place to access services. We're where community members develop skills, build relationships, and take leadership in neighborhood improvement. Founded by Executive Director Darrell Glover, a lifelong North Lawndale resident and pastor, we represent a different approach to community development — one that starts with listening and building authentic relationships.
Real transformation happens when community members drive their own change efforts with appropriate support and resources.
Every year, we proudly serve over 1,000 families through our comprehensive programming. But our impact extends far beyond direct services. When we help one family member find stable employment, their children see new possibilities. When we support a teenager's education, they often become mentors for younger kids. This ripple effect creates lasting change that spreads from family to family, block by block.
