Guided by Community Vision
Real community transformation happens when leadership understands both the challenges and incredible strengths that exist in North Lawndale.
Our leadership combines deep community roots with professional expertise to keep programs accountable to residents while maintaining organizational excellence. We believe the best leaders listen first and act with humility. Our team includes people who've lived in North Lawndale for decades alongside professionals with specialized skills in healthcare, business, and nonprofit management.
This creates leadership that's both deeply connected to our community and equipped to create lasting change.
Our governance keeps community voice central to everything we do. Community accountability focuses programs on what North Lawndale residents actually need rather than what outsiders think they need. Professional expertise ensures efficient operations and financial stability for long-term impact. Diverse perspectives bring different experiences to decision-making for more creative solutions.
This balanced approach helps us stay true to community roots while building sustainable change for generations.
Executive Leadership
Our executive leadership brings together community connections with professional experience to guide a growing organization.
Executive Director Darrell Glover leads with the same heart and vision that inspired him to start this work. As a pastor and lifelong North Lawndale resident, he understands both challenges our community faces and incredible strengths in our neighborhood. His leadership centers on building trust one relationship at a time while creating programs that address root causes.
Under his guidance, Fuel Movement has grown from a single program to serving over 1,000 families annually.
His commitment to resident leadership development ensures community members drive their own transformation rather than being passive recipients. This approach creates lasting change that continues long after any single program ends. When residents lead their own change efforts, the impact multiplies throughout the community.
Real transformation happens when people have the power to shape their own futures.
Our Board of Directors
Our Board includes doctors, MBA graduates, and community leaders who bring professional expertise while staying committed to our mission.
Board members contribute skills through committee work, strategic planning, and community advocacy while ensuring decisions align with community-centered values. Their oversight provides accountability and expertise that funders expect while keeping community voice central. This diverse leadership ensures we remain accountable to residents while maintaining financial stability and operational excellence.
Together, they guide an organization that creates lasting impact in North Lawndale.
